when magic is lost

there was a magic i never knew existed.



cars, lights, people. i knew they're out there, i can hear the sounds.

zooming and honking, racing through the starry night. fluoroscent and colourful, brightening even the darkest hour. laughter, screams and shouts rang through the air.

if only i could see.


you came and knocked on my door, offering me the most wonderful descriptions of what the town below might be. so powerful were your stories until a window magically appeared at the place i most wanted it to.

now i can hear and finally i can see.

but what i saw scared me, it's foreign, new, hostile. this is everything i ever imagined and yet this is not. i scared you away, leaving only the gaping window behind.

now i can see.

the cars, the lights, the people. i know they're out there, i can see them clearly.

but the sounds of silence greets me.

without you here, i can no longer hear.



the magic went away with you.
